Device code sign-in isn't blocked (T1528)
Device code flow lets a user sign in on one device with a code entered on another. Attackers use it for phishing, because the victim completes the sign-in for them.
Why it matters
A victim who enters an attacker's code gives the attacker a valid token, multifactor authentication included.
How GraphnAI finds it
It runs after every sync, on each connected domain or tenant on its own. It applies to Microsoft Entra ID.
It reads:
- 2 more GraphnAI analyses
Tiered Fidelity™ level: Theoretical
Every finding from this check carries the Theoretical level.
- TheoreticalThis checkConfigured in the directory. Nothing else checked.
- ConstrainedA constraint on it has been checked.
- ValidatedTelemetry has seen it in use.
Why there's no automatic fix
GraphnAI doesn't create Conditional Access policies or change security defaults yet.
How to fix it
Turn on security defaults, or create a Conditional Access policy that blocks device code flow for all users and all resources (Conditional Access needs Microsoft Entra ID P1).
